HistoryIn April 1986, Mr. Doug Colins, President of the Barrhaven Community Association approached Mrs. Helena Hall to spearhead a committee of voluntary community members to establish a much needed child care centre in Barrhaven. After three years of hard work this dream became a reality. On September 18, 1989, the Barrhaven Child Care Centre, a hub model linking Mary Honeywell School, opened its doors to receive children ranging from the ages of six weeks to ten years. The Barrhaven Child Care Centre is a non-profit Corporation and now a registered charity which is operated by a voluntary Board of Directors of professionals from the Barrhaven Community. Who we areBarrhaven Child Care Centre opened its doors to the community on September

more—me or my 3 boys!!! The past 7 years have been filled with crafts,
songs, outings and great friendships!!! Keep up the great work!!" "I have been a member of the Resource Centre for
five years. In that time I have seen many babies grow and enter school,
made new friends and found the support that every mom needs. The BFRC
has been an awesome experience for me and my kids!" "Leo and I wanted to sincerely express our thanks to everyone who has
taken care of Leanna over the last 2+ years. She learned a lot, and more importantly, she has
had a lot of fun. She is very well prepared for Junior Kindergarten and a great deal of the the
credit goes to the excellent staff of teachers at you facility. From the toddler program all the
way to senior pre-school Leanna has had excellent care and for this we are extremely grateful
" "We, as parents, sometimes forget that we are not the only people contributing to our child's health & well being.
Especially at this point in our child's lives. It is so important to learn the proper etiquette, manners, work ethic, etc., as this will be
the building blocks to their futures. I can only thank each and every one of you for your kindness and patience when dealing with our children." "Being a stay home mom is the hardest job I have
ever had. The Barrhaven Child Care Centre gives me an outlet where I can
tell the other women my hardships and woes, share a laugh and I know I
am doing okay. We have become a valuable support network which all communities
need." |
