Malvern Child Care
In
1993, the Board of Directors was approached by the Ministry of Community
and Social Services concerning the opening of a new Kindergarten and School-Age
program beside Jockvale Elementary School. After much thought, the Board
went ahead with the project in late 1994. An Advisory Committee was formed,
which included members of the Board of Directors and community members
who each brought an area of expertise to the committee. The Advisory Committee
worked together to bring us to our opening in August of 1995.
The centre operates every Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and
6:00 p.m. providing a program for children aged 3 years, 6 months to 10
years, 8 months. A fully qualified staff of early childhood educators helps
to ensure quality care and programming for the children.
All
the programs are similar to programs at Kennevale site based on childrens
interest and knowledge. The centre provides a learning environment that
serves to stimulate and develop childrens creative thinking, inquiry
and problem solving skills.
The centre support, encourage and facilitate a co-operative
working relationship with parents in order to meet the needs of the children
entrusted to our care.
